Pies for Pi Day🥧

Hi Reader,

For Math Nerds (like ME!) you will appreciate that 3/14 is recognized as pi (π) day.

This is technically a mathematical constant that is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, which starts with 3.14--I could go on--but I don't think you want that😂

As a former Math Teacher and lover of food, what better way to celebrate this "math holiday" than to enjoy pie!

From sweet to savory, from complicated to easy, you will find a pie recipe, or two, to enjoy!

Pies for Pi Day🥧

  • Tamale Pie: This easy recipe features all the flavors you love about tamales from the creamy cornbread and rich to the seasoned meat in a quick and easy casserole.
  • Chicken Pot Pie: This Chicken Pot Pie recipe has been in my family for generations and it is simply the best! And while it may take a bit more effort to prepare, the results, and most importantly the taste, are well worth the extra effort.
  • Cherry Pie: Fresh or frozen cherries are combined with a sweet creamy custard and then baked with a buttery crumble topping creating a cherry pie no one can resist.
  • Dutch Apple Pie: What sets this pie apart from other apple pies is the buttery streusel topping. So good!
  • Blueberry Pie Bars: I love these blueberry bars so much! They have all the flavor of a creamy, blueberry pie without the need to prepare a pie crust.
  • Strawberry Pie Bars: Made with a buttery shortbread crust, a creamy strawberry filling, and an irresistible streusel, these easy bars are perfect for Spring (and Pi Day!)
  • Pie Crust: You can forget about pie crust for pie! This all-butter pie crust is the absolute best!

Happy Pi Day!

Happy Cooking!
