The Cookbook I Made for My Broke College Son (Now Yours, Too)

Hi Reader,

This all started with my son moving into his college apartment last year--on a limited budget, busy, and suddenly responsible for feeding himself (no more dining plan!)

As a mom with a passion for teaching people to cook, I couldn’t send him off with nothing but good wishes and instant noodles. So, I put together a little “care package” for his kitchen:

But tools alone aren’t enough! He needed easy recipes. So, I made him a cookbook: Barely Cooking: Simple Recipes for Broke & Busy College Life.

It’s packed with scaled-down, simplified versions of quick, affordable meals using everyday ingredients and basic tools. It also has a few tips on food safety AND ways to make the most out of ingredients.

And while it was made for my son, it’s really for anyone who needs to eat well with limited time, space, or budget:

  • College students
  • Singles
  • Recent grads
  • Empty nesters

It might be a little late for college planning, but I wanted to share with you--completely free.

Because no matter your stage of life, eating well should be simple, affordable, and doable.

Happy Cooking!

Kristen
