Prime Day Deals I Actually Think Are Worth It

Hi Reader,

Prime Day has never been about buying more stuff for me.

In fact, if you REALLY knew me, you'd know shopping is not my thing. I get overwhelmed by too many choices, I hate waste, and I truly value every penny. Some people call it cheap. I prefer "mindful." Fitting, right?

For me, Prime Day is simply a reminder to stock up on things I already buy regularly (like trash bags, sunscreen, moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner, freezer bags, and even q-tips -- the glamorous stuff!), replace items that have seen better days, and occasionally grab something I've been watching for a sale.

So I rounded up a handful of deals that I genuinely think are worth considering, especially if you're trying to make your dollars stretch a little further.

And if shopping isn't your thing either, I completely understand. I'll be back tomorrow with recipes. I never want anyone spending money on something they don't need -- I'm sharing these simply because they may be helpful.

The Prime Day Deals Worth Considering

Wood Composite Cutting Board: Dishwasher safe, durable, and no plastic flakes ending up in your food. I've had mine for years and still reach for it daily.

KitchenAid Handheld Mixer: My trusty 25-year-old mixer finally gave up yesterday. Apparently it knew Prime Day was coming.

Cosori Air Fryers: Still my favorite brand. Their PFAS-free model is marked down, but if you're looking for the one I use most often, the stainless steel model remains my top pick (even if it isn't on sale).

Oven Safe Thermometers: My go-to for turkey, roasts, and steaks when I want to monitor the temperature without opening the oven.

Airtight Containers for Pantry: If you live somewhere warm and humid, these can save a surprising amount of money by preventing ingredients from going stale—or attracting uninvited pantry guests. Ask me how I know. 😵‍💫

Instant Pot Duo: Currently one of the best deals I've seen. This is still my favorite model and the one I recommend most often. Simple, reliable, and far less finicky than some of the newer versions.

Happy Shopping!

Kristen

Hi Reader, Tis the season for pasta salads! From picnics to potlucks to summer cookouts, nearly every summer meal benefits from a pasta salad. But the difference between good pasta salad and GREAT Pasta salad comes down to one crucial thing. Do NOT rinse your pasta after cooking. When you rinse pasta you remove the starch that allows the dressing or sauce to coat to the pasta. If you have had a flavorless pasta--chances are the pasta was rinsed! Do THIS instead. I recommend tossing a bit of...
